안녕하세요! 조유원입니다. 앞으로는 제가 이곳의 생활에 대하여 알려드릴께요.

You can learn English and go to travel or activities in America, but also you can get an option such as a volunteering work.
미국에서 영어를 배우고 여행을 할 수도 있지만 봉사활동을 할 수도 있습니다.
GEOS English School introduced me San Francisco Food Bank for volunteering work. Because I think volunteering work at SF Food Bank is so cool, I will give you some information about my experience.
GEOS San Francisco학교에서 저에게 봉사활동을 주선해 주었는데요. 제 생각엔 참 좋은 경험인 것 같아 좀 알려드릴께요.

This experience impressed me. First of all, it was hard to get a volunteering work. I was so surprised that because there are a lot of people who volunteer it, there was no empty place I could get in.
놀랍게도 봉사활동을 하기까지는 시간이 좀 걸렸습니다. 많은 사람들이 봉사활동을 하는지라 저를 위한 자리가 없더군요.
One of the most impressed thing was that I saw many families at the volunteering work place.
많은 것을 느꼈는데요, 그 중 가장 인상 깊었던 하나는 가족전체가 봉사활동을 하러 온 사람들이 많았다는 것이었습니다..
After finishing the work, people were happy about what they did. Also, I was happy to share my time with them for doing good things.
그리고 일이 끝난뒤에는 사람들이 너무 복해 보였고, 저 또한 기분이 너무 좋았습니다.

When I got in SF Food Bank, a staff showed me a room where volunteering workers should be in. All of them are so kind. In the room, there are many snacks, beverages, coffee, and water for volunteering workers.
처음 그곳에 갔을 때 직원 한명이 친절하게 건물 내부를 소개시켜주더군요. 봉사활동자들이 머무는 방에는 여러가지 음료와 과자들이 있었습니다.
I have visited SF Food Bank twice. When I visited there first time, what I did was packing pasta. 6 persons at each tables worked together.
저는 그곳을 오늘로 두 번 방문 했는데요 처음 갔을 때 제가 한 일은 파스타를 포장하는 것이었습니다. 각 테이블에는 6명씩 같이 일했구요.
We talked and laughed with each other during the working. It was such a good time to spend my weekend with them.
일하는 동안 이야기도 나누고, 웃고, 저는 주말을 아주 재미있게 보냈습니다.

Today I went there as a second time, there were lots of people who are volunteer workers. Therefore, people should be classified to 2 groups.
그리고 오늘 두 번째 방문이었는데 사람들이 굉장히 많아서 2그룹으로 나뉘어서 일을 했습니다.
The group which I was in worked for classifying food such as beverages, pet foods, medicins, snacks and etc.
제가 속한 그룹은 음식이나 물건들을 종류에 따라 구분하는 일이었습니다.
Pet foods will be gone to animal shelter and foods will be at low income families. Today, there were plenty of student from a elementary school and people from a church.
애완동물 사료는 샌프란시스코의 동물보호 센터로 옮겨질 것이고 음식들은 저소득층 가정으로 보내집니다. 오늘은 초등학교와 교회에서 많은 봉사자들이 왔습니다.
The students were really into volunteering work and I could see how they worked hard and enjoyed it.
봉사활동을 하러 온 학생들이 정말 일을 열심히 하면서 즐기더군요.
Today, My friend picked me up at SF Food Bank after I finished the work. He saw several cars leave and said, “Wow, BMW and Mercedes came here to volunteer, tell me what you have done today. I want to get to know it because I have not been here.”
오늘은 제 친구가 일이 끝난 뒤 저를 픽업하러 왔는데요, 자원봉사자들이 차를 타고 떠나는 모습을 친구가 보더니 “BMW와 Mercedes들이 봉사하러 왔네..오늘 도대체 뭘 했어?” 라고 물어 보더군요. 하하~
I worked at am 9 o’clock to 12 o’clock and I enjoyed it. I reserved my seat for volunteering until I will go back to Korea.

저는 오전 9시부터 12시까지 일을 했는데 좋은 경험이었기에 한국으로 돌아가기 전까지 자원봉사를 계속하기로 했습니다.
In my opinion, the best thing of the volunteering work is that I can meet American. Even though I don’t talk to them first, because I am shy, there are many chance to talk with them during the work.
봉사활동을 하면서 좋았던 점은 미국인을 만난다는 것. 제가 수줍어해서 말을 먼저 걸지 않았음에도 불구하고 일을 하다보면 자연스럽게 그들과 말하는게 너무 좋았어요.
Also, In my personal experience, when I wrote a resume, I was sad about I had no volunteering experience to write down.
또한 저의 개인적인 경험으로는 이력서 쓸 때 봉사활동 경력이 없어 슬펐었습니다.
But fortunately I got new on to write down now. I strongly suggest that you getting a volunteering work.
운이 좋게도 지금은 하나 있네요. ^^ 저는 여러분이 봉사활동 하는 것을 적극 추천합니다.
During you are in America for learning English, you can get not only studying english and traveling but also getting experience something special.
미국에 있는동안 공부하는 것도, 여행을 하는 것도 좋지만 봉사활동 경험까지 덤으로 얻어보세요.
If you think your English is not enough to doing an internship, why don’t you apply volunteering work?
만약 여러분의 영어가 해외 인턴쉽을 할만큼 충분하지 않다면 봉사활동을 하는 것도 좋은 경험일꺼에요.
